On Friday, June 3, a Spartanburg man was killed by a truck at the FedEx Distribution Center.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4.30 a.m. in the parking lot at the FedEx facility off of Falling Creek Road in Spartanburg. A trailer transporter switcher truck being driven by a 64 year old man from Taylors was traveling south on private property and 55 year old Michael Warren Ledtke of Simpsonville was also walking south.
The truck hit Ledtke who died at the scene from massive head and body trauma. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation and FedEx have issued condolences to the family of the victim and say they are cooperating fully with the investigation.
