On Sunday there was a fatal crash in Greenville County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8 p.m. near Fork Shoals Road in the Pelzer area. It appears that the wreck involved at least three different vehicles, and one of the vehicles, being driven by 69 year old William Donald Gentry of Piedmont, was hit by a tractor trailer in a head on collision. Gentry then hit an SUV, and he was ejected from his vehicle. The Greenville County Coroner said that Gentry was not wearing a seat belt, and after he was ejected another vehicle ran over him. He was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy has been scheduled.
The collision is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the South Carolina Transport Police and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
