On Friday, a crash between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer has left one person dead in Spartanburg County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol the accident happened at 11.30 p.m. on Interstate 85 near the 77 mile marker.
According to troopers, the driver of the pickup truck was trying to take the exit at 77 and overshot the exit resulting in him hitting the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the highway.
Troopers went on to say that the driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene and at this time his identity has not yet been released. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured and his name is also not known.
The accident is still under investigation by the troopers and no charges have been filed at this time.
